Need a Check up from you EFI Masters

OK...I have been running datalogs and using the VE Spreadsheet that Dave and EagleMark had made. EagleMark has helped me ALOT...(awesome dude) he has a way of explaining things...kind of like a dad...lol Just don't want to bug him all the time since I know there are many others on here that can help me with the elementary stuff I am doing now. I will hassle him more when I strap EFI rockets to my scooter.

After the 6th rinse and repeat cycle this is where I am. I am getting less changes per run through the wash but it seems like my BLM's are getting high. Just want a check up to make sure I am going in the right direction.

I also have added the Performance Timing Table that Dave posted many moons ago (see 2nd attachment) to this same bin BUT HAVE NOT ran it yet. I am using the $42 mask that EagleMark designed so you have to subtract the 9.84 spark bias. The attached file shows it with the SA Spark Bias. Anyway I was wondering if any of you other guys have used it and if I needed to be aware of any issues. It is a big jump from the SA timing table I have now

I've posted a couple screen shots.
The history table from the 7th log and the VE 3D table as a sample.

Based on the 7th log, I think you might want to look at your VE table and see how smooth the table is? Maybe you can post the .bin file you used to record the 7th data log?

I am at work right now but I will upload it at lunch. It is the ASDU3 bin. Each time I run it through the wash I smooth it out using .7 variable.

The fuel table looks smooth. I think you might need to have some small bumps in the lean areas, and some small valleys in the rich areas. The ECM looks at the surrounding cells, which means the lean / rich numbers in the BLM History are determined by a surrounding cell. I would try manually smoothing the VE table. Generally, as the engine RPM's increase and Kpa's increase the VE number increases, but not always. Sometimes there are flat spots, peaks and valleys. Maybe skip smoothing or try smoothing at .50 or so to leave some of the peaks and valleys the VE fixer spread sheet calculates.

Thank you...I will start running it through the was again today and have some data to share.

How about that HP Timing table you created? I know my engine is going to need more than the standard timing but I don't want to cook the pistons in the process. My ultimate goal is to get the best MPG out of this baby. The 350 crate engine is the old 260hp/350trq with 8.5:1 comp. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised at how well this engine moves the old girl down the road. Great little stump pulling motor...

I say try the HP timing table I shared. Tuning is 99.9999% trial and error. The VE table is close enough to experiment with the timing table. The HP timing table will usually require adjustments to the fuel tables including AE / PE!

Alright Dave....I got a chance to run the new HP timing and the truck seemed to love it. I attached the datalog as well as the bin. By the knock counts I would say I could go more on timing if needed.

Let's avoid pushing our luck. The HP spark table is a proven performer.

I'll try to look at the data log soon. I've got a deadline on a project that needs to be finished ASAP!

Thanks man...You didn't have to do that but I do appreciate it. I will load it up and take a look and upload some data.

here is the first log with your tweaked HP SA bin

It absolutely loves it...I haven't did any full throttle runs...(doubt I ever do) It's my little stump puller. It seems to be running a little rich at idle but it has been doing that all along. I may just need to work on the 37-39 MAP range a little to ease down the richness at idle.

Just check me here....higher than 128 BLM's mean the ECM is picking up a lean mixture and trying to bring it up. Lower BLM the engine is running rich and it's trying to bring it down?

Below 128 = Rich ~ Computer will reduce fuel.
Above 128 = Lean ~ Computer will increase fuel.
