    TBI Injector flow rates

    After lots of searching there seems to be a lot of conflicting injector flow rate numbers. In this thread http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...injector+rates 4.3L are 45pph, 5.0 50pph, 5.7L 61pph and 94-95 7.4L 46pph @ 13psi or 67-72pph @ 26-32psi.

Well, when looking through various bins in OD or OE I get BDXJ 4.3L 46pph, BHMD 5.0L 54pph, BJYL 5.7L 61pph and BHDC 7.4L 67.9pph.

I'm contemplating using 5.0L injectors @ 28-30psi to get around 80pph. Problem being what are the 5.0L injectors truly rated at? 50pph or 54pph? Has anyone ever had a set flow tested and still have the data sheet? How can a BBC not starve for fuel at 67.9pph? Can we assume that the rates revealed in Tunerpro are the most accurate?

I'd use the 54pph you found in the $0D/$0E mask!

The 61 pph for 5.7l is accurate as it came out of those masks. The early BB injectors 74pph and 80pph are accurate as per calculations from dissasemblies. The later BB injector is calculated to 46pph at 13psi from those masks but fuel pressure is 26-32 as per GM specs.

I've never corrected the 4.3l and 5.0l as per those masks, they are what the internet was stating for years. I'll change them now with your info!

    Mark,

Would you add one to your chart as well.

Its a marine application high pressure version of the 61 lb/hr injectors. Used on 400+ HP marine big blocks.

    25170301----Yellow/Black---61 pph @ 13 psi / 454/502 Marine *NOTE: Came with 30 PSI regulator used @ 26-32psi for ~100 lb/hr @ 30 psi

The only way to make 100% sure of what the injector will flow at a given pressure is to have them flowed.

In the past, I've commented that setting injector flow in a .bin file is like: apples, oranges and bananas.
What an injector is rated to flow? ... apples
What an injector actually flows? .... oranges
What the injector flow is programmed in the .bin file? ... bananas
Very often the three injector values (rated flow / actual flow / programmed flow) are NOT THE SAME FLOW VALUE ... which can drive a beginning tuner bananas!

I feel like my VE table is close but on the upper end i'm in high 90's. Either I need a shade more fuel or I have incorrectly calculated my injector flow rate in my .Bin compared to what they are actually putting out. That's what got me to digging through and trying to come up with a combination of injector flow vs pressure that I need. Huge difference between a 50pph injector and a 54pph injector from 13psi to 30psi. 76pph to 82pph respectively.

Anyone got an extra 5.0 injector laying around? Have a pair but one has broken electrical stud.
