    OBD 1 Code 76 in LT1

Does anyone know anything about this code? 16188051 pcm $EE

Tunerpro $EE-16188051-V3.2 xdf lists it as system voltage high.
The section here for this PCM doesn't even show a code 76
Google search comes up with Digital EGR solenoid #2 circuit error

I have checked voltage and it's under 14 at the battery as well as the fuse box. I don't have a clue what to do if it's something with the egr.

Also, this is a transplant into a 87 Truck with a painless harness. I have turned off a bunch of error codes in the tune but there is not one for 76(unless I missed it).

Just looked through the Tunerpro $EE-16188051-V3.8.adx file and it does have a DTC 76 but the ALDL files does not have one... so it's a mistake. The address in the ADX file comes up same as DTC 43 ESC. Does it also show a 43? Or did you turn off 43? Hmmm?

    that's a weird one.

i think the ADX is whacked out or something, i glanced at it just now, and the error codes are all over the place. system voltage high should be an error#43 and egr should be errors 27 and 32.

honestly i never use the ADX as i have my own datalogging stuff, but i've been meaning to work it over, im just not motivated.

thing is, in that ADX, some of the errors are taken from message 0 and some are from message 2, which is... totally unnecessary.

message 0 on EE contains ALL the relavent error bits AND the data in one packet, so it's just wasting throughput. message 2 on EE is an error code only message for "dumb" error code scanners that just want the codes. it's basically cutting the available throughput for real data, since all the relavent errors are also in message 0 anyway.

either way, dont worry about that code, it's probably bunk. bit zero, byte 0x07 is the proper error for system voltage high, and that'd be error 53.

Mark, 43 is also showing up but I just haven't taken time to work with it because the 76 had my attention.
Steveo, I wasn't as much worried about that code or what it was as I was getting that light to go off without pulling the bulb.

I wish I was able to understand the message 0 and message 2 stuff as well as more details other than what I see on the surface but I can't seem to wrap my head around it from what I see online. Maybe one day I will get some one on one training to help me with where, how and what I'm looking at.

My plan now is to remove 76 from my adx file and focus on the 43..... or turn it off.

    Thanks for the help guys!!!!

Yes, work on fixing DTC 43 and don't worry about 76, it's a duplicate of 43.

You should have seen it before I removed half the duplicate and OBDII error codes?

I'll have to find time to go through it again...

could just get a trial version of datamaster or google for scan9495, to check to see what the codes really are, until the adf is fixed up

mark let me know if you do end up working on it, otherwise i'll get to it eventually

My plate is kind of full right now and I don't even have an LT1 to test on. So if you want to finish it up please do so.

The reason I started working on the $EE stuff was my Roadmaster Sleeper project I wanted to add a 150HP shot to. Nice sleeper project but it got T boned and saved my kids life instead...

I would love to work on the ADX but it simply over my head.

EagleMark, that wagon looks just like the one I pulled the LT1 out of last Summer to put in another truck just like the one I'm working on now. Nothing like a big car to keep you safe!!

I really liked that car, had some plans for it like electric exhaust cut outs, along with 3:73 gears and posi for the Burn Out contest at Hot Rod Cafe each summer during Post Falls car show weekend. Pull up with all dark tinted windows closed, AC on, open exhaust and start a burnout! People just would not expect it from an old man luxury station wagon with woodgrain...

    3:73 and a 100HP shot get's that big boat to 12's...

He got hit dead center in drivers door by Jeep Cherokee and pushed the car 3-4 foot sideways! So it was a hard hit. Both pillars bent, but not much. He had a few scratches on his face from the window blowing past him in chips. It was all the way in passenger side corner of dash by windshield, so it flew straight across interior. Car was small price to pay for my sons life!

The other driver ran a red light... third DUI, no license or insurance... had nothing to sue for, not even a job... so I never got a penny for the car.

I'm sorry to hear that but like you said, small price to pay to still have your son.
