i assume it would. it is just a 68HC11F1 after all is said and done. if it doesn't, i'd be curious to know how the flash bootloader actually gets to the E-side. if it doesn't get there directly over the UART/ALDL link, then it could only get there from being passed over SPI from the T-side....

i can't think of any more comm schemes that could possibly be used?

    Hello Steveo and others

I know this is an older thread but cannot find a more recent one.

I have finally got around to trying to connect my Innovate LM-2 analogue output to the A/C pressure port for logging purposes....

However it turns out to be a little vague and somewhat scary process!?

AC PRESSURE SENSOR TWO HALVES SEPERATED READY TO SOLDER WIRES ON.jpg

I got a second hand A/C pressure sensor and chopped it at the parting line so I could have the correct connector to easily install it on both my 94 and 92 Corvettes.

Attached are what is inside, a Melexis microchip, with the electronics earthed to the case.

I carefully unsoldered the electrical ribbon from the connector and am left with 3 pins that match the 3 wires that go of into the wiring loom.

However the Analog output from the LM-2 can be wired up 3 different ways according to the manual, I do not have the knowledge about 5V A/D circuitry to be confident about making the correct connections for this to work safely.

I confirmed with Logworks that the Analogue port is set to the 7.xx and 22.xx values, but when measuring to earth I get 7.x volts from one of the wires and the differential of the two wires does not match the AFR correctly according to the formula in EEHACK.

I am not keen to supply more than 5 volts up to the ECM/PCM ports........

Can anyone assist me in what to connect where please as I believe this is a MUST HAVE addition for tuning as trying to compare separate AFR graphs to logged data without it being time matched is rather challenging and potentially inaccurate.

    Thank you in advance.

    Cheers

What you are trying to do with the A/C pressure sensor has me confused. Normally, the LM-2, 0-5 volt output would be wired directly to the ECM replacing the A/C sensor signal. On your '92 Corvette I believe this would be the where the grey/red wire attaches at C11.

Hi Eds, thanks for the response.

The LM-2 Has two analogue out wires though, Green+ and Yellow- and according to the manual can also be setup as a differential input with an extra earth. 3 different diagrams shown.

When I measured the Green to earth, it was over 7 Volts at 20.9 AFR.

The Green is the one that should be connected to the Grey/Red wire as you have stated, but that is a port expecting to see 5V MAX....

    Hence my concern!

Its possible that connecting the Yellow wire to the Ref Ground-the black wire is all that is required, the differential across the two is less than 5 Volts, but I do not know that is correct for sure.

The 3RD Grey wire not being used at all.

The LM-2 has this two wire system, the MTX has a 1 wire system so may be slightly different again.

As Steveo and some others have done it I was hoping one of them could chime in and confirm what to do.

The 92/93 ECM's are very rare now and are expensive so I would rather not damage the input port by making an assumption I am not confident with.

Once its finally working I will post back here for others to know the exact things to do...

    Cheers

    you are overthinking it
+ to + and - to - (- being the ac pressure connector ground)
try measuring with your meter in parallel once it's connected this way and you'll see the voltage normalizes to ~5v when AFR is maxed out

    Hi Steveo

    Thanks for the reply.

    Appreciate it.

Indeed I may be overthinking.....just being cautious! I will hook it up during the week then and report back.

    Cheers

    Working now!

    Ok Folks

I have now got it working, thanks Steveo for your input.

Here are the results for my 1992 Corvette Manual, for a first 3 gears run.

Also included is the wiring diagram and formula for PSI to AFR if your logger cannot be made to adjust from PSI.

Many cheers for the festive season.

Fyi the ‘95 z28 has an adder table for the ac pressure.
Even zeroed out, turning the heater to an ac activation causes the iac to open.
I think this could just be response to the vacuum drop from thedoor opening but not certain.
Never found anything that stopped it.
