    Bench cable and NEMISYS scanner

Mark encourages the use of a 12v battery vs other electrical sources for PCM programming, with that in mind I made a bench harness for the LT1 pcm for use with a auto battery.

If a person did not have a portable laptop could they use a bench harness and for example an OBD scanner to verify that a (ie craigslist:-) 16188051 is good before buying?

It would work! But not necessarily tell you if the PCM was good. If you got DTCs it is still functional, not a brick, but could still have issues like one circuit or driver no good.
