BJLF is a 5.7L Auto from a 16196395 PCM.

Thought I would post an update.
Installed the proper knock sensor (3.9K ohm) using the V6 memcal I was supplied with. The Code 43 Knock Sensor Circuit Failure error went away, and I could get knock counts, but there was no spark retard.
I then installed a V8 memcal. Now i get knock counts and spark retard, everything is working right.
Bottom line, use a V8 memcal if you swap a V6 for a V8.
All is well! Sometimes guys have a thick skin from all the non sense that goes on in forums. You did not know we do not play that game!
Some times things may be blunt? But they are answers with respect!

Looks like a huge amount of these 6 cylinder memcals have been sold in the last 6 months! He must have run out of V8 memcals and just used these?
I've been getting more and more emails and phone calls from people with same issue, more then normal and there winter projects are not starting up.
One person even told me of another tuner who has this statement on their website, so it's only going to get worse as these wrong memcal chips come up to running time. If he even released yet they don't work?
We know of one guy who sells these 6 cylinder memcals converted to run on 8 cylinders and they do. But he sells these with a claim that the Knock Sensor will work! It may, but never work correctly! This is a separate issue that has been going on for years now and people are running around with no knock sensor. There have been several motors damaged as a result of this person desire to make a profit with a product and service that does not work!Recently I've been having to program memcals for people who bought from very large Companies. These Companies are trying to use 6 cylinder memcals. THIS CANNOT BE DONE! The ESC (electronic spark control) unit in the memcal must be from a V8 car, PERIOD. If you bought from a big company, and your car just doesn't seem to run right. Please contact me and I'll get back to you, and find out if you're a victim of un-savory sell at all cost companies.
Please be careful with CRAP sold on eBay!!!
