    Delta force tuning software/interface.

    Anybody used this?
A buddy gotta one with a car he bought,he's selling the car so I bought it from him out of curiosity.
I'm not sure how to tell what I have though, was hoping for more info.
I'm gonna try and load up software tonight in laptop and see if I can get a model,or part number from it if it will talk.
All it says on the interface box is Delta Force Tuning and the website.
Any info would be helpful,no time to play with it now but curious if i threw money away or not.

Yeah, looks fairly new and some seem to be hand held and no PC support yet? From what I read on the forum, not a lot of posts. Even the site does not give much info as to what it really is capible of? They cover some GM, Ford and a lot of others to be specialty in any?

    OK, lets hear a review!

This is laptop based interface/convertor for tuning suite, not a handheld.
Can't get it drivers installed yet, from reading i need them to email me some .dll files. It keeps throwing a driver error that looks to be common.
I figured it was worth $100,at minimum it's one of the ~$500 units. Maybe i'll luck out and it's useable, though it looks to be vin locked and uses "bullets" (vin license).
They've been around a few years,at least since i've looked into it for ford customers. Was always too confusing and expensive to care about.
Anything to do with ford tuning confuses me to be honest, haven't worked out how they do things over on that side of tracks yet.
Even as a ford tech I never did anything remotely aftermarket to the electronics short of bluetooth and remote starts pretty much.

Says it can only be licensed to one PC? Also compatible with windows XP and Vista 32 bit OS? Nothing about Windows 7?

    Used to be called Sniper?

Mine must be newer,it is labeled Delta Force and also had a sticker saying it was v23 which seems to be the latest revision.
Supposed to email me some files, haven't recieved them yet though.

Moates makes their chips, maybe other hardware.

LMK if you need any Ford help. I've not used Sniper/DF, but half my parking lot is Ford.
There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it can not be overcome by brute strength and ignorance.

I use it. I have the older interface and the the newer v23. Along with the mac 10 interface. I have the full custom tuning deltaforce software. It is not transferable. If you look at westers garage he uses the same software just with his name on it. Like the tunercat program. I have tuned about 1000 fords with it. I even can sell you the bullet vins for it. Just like any program there are advantages and disadvantage. I like it because I don't have to sell my customers a handheld on each tune. And If you return a vehicle back to stock. You will get your bullet back. Even with just the interface you can change base parameters like a handheld with your laptop. But for custom tuning you will need the full df program. I think its around 3500.00 I have it. I bought it years ago. If Anyone needs a custom file built I can help them.

When I was doing my research for options to tune Ford vehicles, I found bad things about that software and their customer service:

This is what drove me away from that and I ended buying a better solution. Very happy with it

    What was your better solution?

I've yet to mess with this, they sent me the files needed but haven't had any time or interest enough to pull it out and play with it.
If I don't get around to it soon i'll just put it on ebay probably.

Is the interface cable a relabled AVT product then?
Does the flashing happen via the tuning software or is there a flashing tool that talks to the cable?
