    EE open loop idle

so far there's no way known to force an open loop idle in EE, besides a shitty hack to the integrator that causes it to error and set a lean code after idling for a little while (which apparently clears itself once you get going again)

seems corrupt o2 readings from overlap at low rpm tend to shove the o2 towards lean, making open loop idle something i find necessary

i'll start picking away at it, any pointers? how is it done in other similar platforms?

If i'm understanding the question correctly, you don't want the IAC to make step corrections at idle, right? Somebody might have a better suggestion, but if you went to scalers and lowered the:

IAC - TPS Percent for Closed Throttle

to something unattainable (like 0%), it would stay in open loop idle (or never go into idle mode), right?

That's kind of the way it's done in other masks ... but differant code. Like $42 uses Open Loop RPM Threashold so there is a Idle on and Idle off RPM, has to go above Idle off to enter CL and below Idle on for OL. There are other settings for open loop idle as well like TPS% and MPH. But this mask was designed to have some cals run OL idle, like all BB engines.

I did find and old trick in my notes that may work for Open Loop Idle, that is what is is titled?

In "%TPS Threshold For WOT Vs. RPM (High Cool) " and drop the WOT setting below 1200 RPMs to 0

    woah i never considered that!

that will go into PE mode at idle; so i could even use the PE tables to screw with idle mixture

nice trick! i wonder if there are any other side effects. i can't think of many; all the tables that deal with PE mode could pretty much be zeroed out below 1200rpm or whatever.

    i'll test 'er out
