    454 Ana 4l80e trans

My wife has a 85 Monte Carlo, we have a '91 454 anda 4l80e trans from a truck. I want to drop this combo in the car along with the EFI an the trans to work as they did in the truck. I have zero experience with fuel injection so after some cruising round the web I stumbled on to this awesome forum. Thank you soo much for the help.

i think I counted 4.2 million questions that I have. So can I start with a few for now.

it looks like I use the 7060 ecu?

We plan on using a small aftermarket 12 circuit wiring harness for the car, Can I use a harness from. 350 powered truck? As I'm seeing its hard to find a harness from a big block truck with a 80e trans?

I am not sure what gears will be in the rearend yet. Will that matter to the computer?

we want to hotrod it. Headers, cam an intake. Are there files or what ever to tune it to make it run as it should?

Who bores out tbi,s? Are there bigger injectors offered?

    There are a couple options.
The 7060 PCM and 7427 PCM. Opinions vary on which is the better choice '7060 PCM vs. '7427 PCM. With good TBI wiring skills a 5.7 liter / 4L60E harness can be converted to work for a 7.4 liter 4L80E harness. With excellent TBI wiring skills, the '7747 TBI wiring harness could be converted to a '7060 or '7427 7.4 liter / 4L80E with the addition of a 4L80E pigtail harness added to the '7747 harness. If possible, finding a donor 454 / 4L80E vehicle with either '7060 or '7427 computer and wiring harness would be easier for someone with beginning TBI wiring skills.

For a Hot Rod 454, I would use the 1996 ~ 2000 Vortec 454 port fuel injected intake. (see pics below) The '7427 can be upgraded to operate the Vortec 454 port fuel injected intake in the same way a 1990 ~ 1992 TPI computer operates 8 port injectors.

RV Morse Machine ( http://www.rvmorsemachine.com/ ) can bore the TBI throttle body. The best flowing TBI injectors are from the 87 ~ 88 454 TBI's with the numbers 5235231, which can support about 450 HP with a 18 PSI of fuel pressure.

There are some chip files that can come close to making a hot rod TBI 454 work decent, but ultimately a custom tuned chip will have the best results.
