The 12200411 PCM will not run a 58x engine. You will need an E38 or E67 ECM.

To use an 0411 PCM you would need a Lingenfelter converter box ...

True. I didn't think of that.

Why wouldnt he simply use the proper 24x crank and 1x cam signals.
Kinda like seeing a cool prosthetic leg, then cutting off your good leg, just so you can wear it. Kinda silly.

Either use the more modern ECM or swap to the proper reluctors for 0411 use. You only need to buy a new camshaft sprocket and then swap out the 58x relcutor for a 24x, less money than that Lingenfelter box.

If he is using a Gen I Vortec truck engine - like the one you did - absolutely.

But this thread sounds like a Gev IV engine using a Gen III controller - in which case the Lingenfelter box is far more expedient and economical. One of the photos is of a Gen IV engine.

If he is using a Gen IV engine, it would need to be completely dismantled, the 58x CKP reluctor pulled off, and a 24x CKP reluctor pressed on.

Some clarification from the OP would help out with suggestions.
