    beta testers wanted

need volunteers that meet the following conditions, to test a linux based aldl datalogging and display thing i'm working on

    - OBD-I ALDL ecm @ 8192 baud
    - usb serial cable with ftdi chipset
    - something that runs linux

i promise i wont fry your ecm and i'll put you in the credits.

mostly just want to make sure i can adapt this thing to different ECMs, since i only have an LT1 at my disposal

cool, if you feel like giving it a run, it's already set up for an f-body LT1 by default...

    http://resfilter.github.io/aldl/

download the tarball there, and there are running/building instructions right on that page.

let me know if you have any trouble.

actually if anyone wants to beta test it WITHOUT a supported car just for kicks or to play around with it, you can do that too.

it has a serial driver that pretends its connected to an LT1 ecm that just spits out a random (but technically valid and checksummed) datastream.

you can build it without the ftdi driver or anything:

    make aldl-dummy

oh definitely. virtual machines can have direct access to a windows usb device too, so it should work perfectly well.
