    1985 k5 blazer conversion?

This is my first efi project. So here is my question. i have the complete efi setup off of a 1988 3500 truck, I now need to decid on what to do for a fuel pump.
it looks like i can get a complete hanger and pump assembly for around 200 just not sure what the difference between the 85 tank and 88 tank, or would it be easier to go with an external pump if so what should i get for it? external is easier to install and a little cheaper but how hard is it to convert a tank over to internal and does it need some kind of baffle?

I'm not 100% on this, but I believe that the 85 tank has a smaller hole where the sender fits in. It is too small to fit a fuel pump through the hole. You will also have to deal with the fact that the fuel injection has a return line and the 85 tank won't have one.

I know I have a line I can use as a return from the smog equipment, I may have to go look at the hanger assembly for the 85 at the parts store and see what size it is.

If you can get a gas tank from 87 to 91 Blazer it will have the EFI pump assembly and tank will bolt it.

hadn't thought to go that way. Just checked new tank $98 and new pump with hanger $115 so I think that is the answer

And if you go to JY or LMC you can get the lines from tank to TBI...

when I did my blazer I used the stock tank, found a E2000 pump on ebay for $36 shipped with lifetime warranty made in the USA product. ran rubber fuel lines from tank to motor with inline fuel filter. so far works great. used a 2 inch electrical conduit hanger. one screw clamp and works well for a round pump.

    just my $.02
