    Hours needed to make a 7.4L 4l60E $0D bin? AND EGR questions?

    Guess how many hours it takes to make a stock 5.7L 4L60E $0D bin file into a 7.4L $0D bin file?

    Almost 5 hours!

    The worst part was I had done this before and lost the file in the computer crash of 2012...

    But I think I have an issue? This was a stock BJLH 1994 5.7L vehicle to 1988 7.4L engine which I think both use same EGR control? I used a $0E 7.4L bin for all the parameters including EGR and was surprised at all the differences there... then it came to me that... I think the 1994 7.4L uses a Linear EGR and the 5.7L does not? If someone can clarify I may have to change all the EGR parameters back...

    Fairly certain the 94-95 TBI 4.3 and 7.4 both used linear EGR valves. The 88 would be a EVRV setup on the 454.

    What about 5.7L ?

    Or better yet how to set up for EVRV EGR in $0D ?

    Ha! The 5.7L I started with "Linear EGR/EVRV EGR" UnChecked and the 7.4L is checked! So it looks like I should have left all the EGR settings alone instead of changed them!

    IIRC the 1-ton 5.7 trucks and vans used the EVRV EGR with $OE. The way you can tell EVRV vs standard backpressure EGR is the EGR solenoid on the EVRV setup will have 4 wires and the standard setup 2 wires.

    Hello, old thread I know… but at least I searched!

    Any chance you would be willing to share your 7.4L $0D 4L60E bin file? I stuck a 454 in my 4L60 / 350 rig and am trying to get it running better. Would love to compare notes on the project in general too!
