easiest way to do cruise timing is on flat ground steady state driving drive into a cell and hold steady while increasing timing untill you get the best vacuam and lowest tps just remember your tuning 4 cells at all times not just the cell you are in so some blending of the neighbouring cells is required

Just looked at a Corvette LT1 and it's got 35* at 1600 RPM 60 MAP where you have 28*?

in simple terms (there's more to it) cell 17 is decel, 18 is rolling idle, 16 is stopped idle.

yes i wish i could tune on the road, unfortunately you can't just use an emulator with an LT1..

the corvette is at its torque peak by that point. my torque peak is closer to 2800 rpm, whereas the 'vettes torque peak is around 1400 or 1500 i think, so naturally i have a dip there.

comparing this cam to a stock corvette one is apples to oranges. if stock timing worked in that range, i'd run a stock timing map.

one thing i know from tuning simpler engines, is a bunch of advance below the torque peak in loaded acceleration range just reduces smoothness. running the stock map in this car sure proved that to me

steveo, LT1 F-Body DFCO has stock 1 second delay on an M6, setting is 0 seconds on the A4 . Must be that way to prevent activation during shifting for drivers with a slow clutch/throttle coordination...

it's still doing that weird timing thing under light load or coasting. i killed DFCO completely, no dice.

revisiting the log, the worst parts seem to be when im coasting to a stop, and when i pop the clutch in, it gets way worse.

im throwing this timing map out and starting from scratch with a stock one, im tired of playing with it. i think the original tuner was a retard. some situations on hard accel are giving me lots of KR. i'll just do a few hundred flashes till i get it right

yeah i've seen that too. i did lower mine to more like 0.8 seconds. having it disabled made no diff at all.

i took that excel file that was posted, added a couple degrees across the board, and did a weighted average with the stock table, as it seemed too conservative on the top end. then i flattened out the cruise range just a little bit where necessary

it's actually pretty good now. i only have one spot in light acceleration that's noticeably rough (feels too advanced), and way less knock retard.

i guess a fresh start was needed more than i realized
