Question on bin file values, or lack of them

Need a little guidance nailing down some basics . When I read and save my current bin file using the AutoProm and TunerPro RT ( v5) I don't show any values in the tables or anywhere . When I read and saved it everything looked fine . File size is 32,768 (32kb). In the pic you can see the xdf and adx files that I'm using . What am I missing. ?

sounds like the BIN isn't pulled correctly. or wrong buffer addressing?

Take a look at this for setting offsets:

Hmmm .... The chip is from Street & Performance and contains one of their tunes . It is a UV chip but the sticker in the chip has been replaced so I'm unable to get the BCC off of it . I'm presuming it is AUJP ?? 90-92 F body , speed density .

Anyhow , so I selected the 29C256 chip and the following buffer address
    Chip. 000000-007FFF
    Buffer 000000-007FFF

ill read up on those offsets and report back ! Thanks guys !

You can try a 512 size selection.

If the EPROM is a 256 size then all that will happen is that the code gets read twice.

Since the bin you saved has zeros for data, I would suspect that it's a 512 size EPROM, and you have only read the top half of the EPROM, when the file itself is loaded to the bottom half ($8000 to $FFFF).

When I haven't got offsets to work correctly for whatever reason, I have read as a the larger EPROM, and then cut the actual code out and pasted it into another hex editor and saved it as the smaller file.
The man who says something is impossible, is usually interrupted by the man doing it.

OK, so i spent the last few hours trying different chips 256 & 512, xdf and adx files, offsets. Still nothing . Im stumped. Even tried it on my other laptop ! The only difference that i noticed was that when i selected a 256 chip on my other laptop, and verified the chip with buffer, it says verification failed (not matched). Only passes with the 512 chip.
I'll give Moates tech support a call tomorrow and see what they say. If i still have trouble with i can always run over there and let them try. Only 'bout an hour away.
Thanks for all the assistance guys. If anyone has any other suggestions, i'll give it a shot ! Thanks again

Connect the AutoProm to the USB cable. The USB will supply the power.
Make sure the 28 pin ribbon cable used for emulation is UNPLUGGED from the unit. Unpredictable behavior can result from the APU1 being directly connected to a ECM using the emulation cable while burning chips.
Place the target or source chip in the ZIF socket. Orientation is critical, and the chip should be placed with its notch or arrow facing toward the ZIF handle and toward the back panel of the AutoProm. The chip should be at the ‘bottom’ of the socket, such that any unused socket pin slots are closest to the handle or backplane.

Try 27C512 and 000000 to FFFFFF and save it and post it, we'll see what's there?

Your first post picture shows a Windows update icon... have you restarted the PC since then? Stuff does go weird sometimes when an update is downloaded and not installed?

There's nothing right about that bin... sorry... You sure that chip is good?

Can you take a picture of memcal and header mounted in the chip reader? Maybe we can see an issue?

Didn't think it looked right . As for the chip , I have no idea if it's good . All I can say is it should be . This was a new S&P unit that was purchased years ago and the project never got finished .it got parted and I bought the unit. Has never been run . Here are those pics . Let me know if you need more

See the notch on the chip? It points towards the ZIF handle. You have the header in right, but not in AutoProm right. Turn it around so notch points towards Zif handle and it will read.

Okay, i put it back the way it was. This way was the only way i would see values .So I thought that I had it backwards all the times that I was seeing 0 values . Here's what im seeing now with I correctly placed in the ZIF socket and reading a 29c256 with 000000-007FFF
