Hi, I`m new here with a bad problem. Hope someone can help me. I have A 56 Chev. with a stock 283 that has only 2000 mi. since overhaul. I purchased TBI on ebay that comes from a 87 to 91 chev. 305ci. my car ran perfect before the conversion, but it has a very serious knock in it that seems to come from front of eng. I can put my hand on the thermostat housing and feel the knock. When I first started car after I completed all connections the knock was not
that prevalent and I thought I had a detonation thing. Obviously I have only let car idle. I realized that I had not taken out fuel pump rod, so when I did the knock was still there, and now it is quite loud and I only idle it a minute now.
does anyone nave any in put on this freakie thing? The car ran great the day I started the conversion. Could the fuel pump and rod have some connection with the sound which seems to come from the front of eng. ? Thanks
