I moved your post to a seperate thread...

Well don't feel stupid, that is a problematic ECM for data in the first place.

Second if you started with an ADS file you need to Import it and TunerPro will prompt you to save it as a newer version ADX file.

Third there are some real issues with FTDI drivers lately! So read this Cable Installation and in this post there is a link to new driver issues.

Tried real time no problems. Found the information below from Tuner Pro will try using the 10k and see what happens.

Thanks for all your help. Learning so much. This is a great site.

"I have purchase moattes "xtreme aldl " cable and box and have gone to
tools/preferences aldl/emulation and selected "test for valid cable using
settings", it returns with --"cable found and functional". but when selecting
the cable icon it says at the bottom "initializing hardware" then "hardware
not found". what am i doing wrong ??? please helpwhat do i need to scan . I have an 87 vett moattes usb cable and obd1
    connector

Tuner Pro suggest the cable should be on 10k
it also says that The initialize hardware is for emulators, it does not get used with the ALDL cable
You need to load the correct ADS file, then use the aldl connect button in the tool bar (two blue arrows). If I'm not mistaken you will need to set the resitor switch on the cable to 10K for your ECM.

I believe these 1227165 ECM do need 10K to start Data Flow, then turn off...

    yes.

at least for 8192 data, for 160, i don't remember if it is a constant stream or waits for the 10K to start doing that too.

This is from another forum my question is will the data be correct if I use this change?

Did you set up Tuner Pro to use "AutoProm" as the datalogging device type?

If you are datalogging (or trying to) using the AutoProm / TunerPro combo, I believe the horizontal switch needs to be towards the USB port, and the vertical switch needs to be in the top position for the 10k resistor used with the 165 ECM ALDL interface.
Yup, I got all that and I actualy got it to give me the blue window saying that it connected. But I still wasnt getting anything, the dash was all 0.0 and none of the other things had readings either. I will try to mess with it more this week if I get time.
I don't beleive there is anything in the memcal that would prevent the datalogging from happening(other than the code). The aldl operation will follow the mask, so you should use the 6E if the code was changed to 6E. When running $6E, use the 1227165_6E.ads file included with TunerPro. If it doesn't connect the first try and you're sure your ALDL settings are correct, then hit connect again.

Thats what I was hoping for because the ADS file for the 6E is way better. I think when I did get it to connect I was running the 32B so maybe thats why I didn't get anything.
