    OBD1 data stream

Probably an ignorant question, but I am going to ask anyway.

It's been a while since I have messed with my truck since EagleMark helped immensely in the last bit of tuning I have done.

A few days ago, I finally got around to doing the MPG via the fill up the tank, drive a bit, fill up again and do the math. While I know this is not a very accurate method, I'm looking at about 20-23 mpg.

So I decided to whip out the toughbook and do some logging.

Then, I started playing with the "dash" display and changing around things.

But then I noticed something odd,and maybe it's just me, but it seemed that the data I am seeing is off from the setup I was using before.

By setup, I mean the version of xdf/adx file I was using.

I was using a custom dash modified a little from the v5.0 and I don't remember what version of xdf.

Now that I have seemed to have beat around the forest, my question is regarding the data stream that is recorded.

Is the raw data recorded from the ECM that is stored in the log file, or, is the data logged and recorded after being decoded by TunerPro?

raw data is stored in the XDL files.

you can accidentially open an XDL using the wrong ADX and you'll get all kinds of crazy things happening.

That is what I was hoping for, but wasn't 100% sure.

I've changed the "dash" and I'm seeing numbers that I don't think look right, but they aren't completely out of whack either.

One thing that I have noticed is that when you change something in the adx, it apparently changes something in the xdf that is loaded.

I'm hoping that I haven't inadvertently corrupted either of those changing and adding stuff.

Will post a thread in the GM forum with data logs to see if there is an issue.

I think I figured it out. I think I saw a time stamp change because I believe it was yesterday when I downloaded the xdf that I was referring to.
