    Horrible tune

I just want some other opinions. A customer brought me a truck this evening.
    Truck 04 Silverado
4.8 magnacharger. custom cam. 56 lbs injectors, meth inj, full bolt ons.
The truck surged wouldn't idle. flat and lazy.
I strapped it on the dyno.
When I downloaded the file I knew I was in trouble. Monday Im going to flash the latest OS on tisweb.
The sad thing is the place that tuned this truck is a huge shop. They charged him 600.00 for the tune. I have no idea how they scaled the maf.
Look at his shift points and rev limiter. I wonder why it was bouncing off the limiter between shifts

There's a lot of $400 to $600 tunes that show up here that aren't worth a nickel! Not sure why people would pay for something that runs bad? But they do? Not sure how the ones collecting the big bucks for nothing stay in business or sleep at night either?

Is a latest Tis OS update going to help handle boost? It may be a help to start with a calibration that has glitches worked out... but this would need a Custom OS to hendle changes...

New OS. And build the tune. Or I have a Joe Gibbs tune I can work off of That I dyno tuned with close mods. Just I have seen bad tunes. But this is horrible. This is the second tune that I have redone in the past month from this other shop.

Don't worry, there will be plenty more when people realize their car runs like shit! I think that's why these guys get away with it? Some people would not know a good running car from what they have... they are not gearheads but have money to spend and then are told it's done?

In the last year my work has increased 50%, all of which are re-tunes from long time well known shops! People are amazed when the vehicle runs as it should... then they get angry that they were ripped off and drove there vehicle like that!

I fixed a cammed LS1 swapped 97 Camaro for a guy I work with recently too. Had spent over $700 in dyno tunes and in a few hours I had it running better than ever from a stock flash.

It's a shame that this happens all to often when a guy pays for a Dyno Tune! It's called a PE Rape tune!

I only looked at Low Oct, High Oct and Max allowed Retard.... this is surely a recipe for disaster!

It had a SLP MAF, and due to stock MAF curve never read high enough airmass to come off the stock, lower load ignition values.

I picked up 20 whp off of adding fuel, motor wanted the timing it was "seeing" when it arrived, everything else was driving manners... no more idle surge, or light throttle fuel trim stumble.
