    5.7 manual bin for 427 PCM?

    Almost have everything ready to do the 7747 to 427 swap and would like to find the best bin to start with. I know from much reading EagleMark was searching for the best bin for the manual trans, but never read a conclusive answer as to which one gave the best results. I'll have many, many more questions coming in the next few months as this is my first attempt to tune.

    JeepsandGuns and myself really went out of our way to find a manual 5.7L file and both ended up useing one from $0E and were never happy. Since then we have just used auto files in $0D and not had any issues.

    Suposedly there are $0D 5.7L manual files out there. But we've never seen one?

    Rule of thumb is always start with auto or manual... it makes a big difference with older ECM like $42, there's a lot of changes between auto and manual. But seems the newer faster 7427 does fine with an auto bin file to start.

    Years ago I swapped out a 4L60e for a manual trans in my 94 C1500 not knowing a single thing about chip programming. The only real issue I had was that the idle would run away a bit when the clutch was depressed at slow speeds like coming to slop lights, parking lots etc. I finally noticed that if I let the truck completely warm up and settle to idle when first started that it wouldn't do that.

    Mark maybe you could point me in the right direction on some of the bin changes you made for the manual vs auto?

    IIRC it was just checking the manual trans bit... which I believe changes TCC logic to Shift Light logic, nothing else? Least it does in other masks.... then disabling all the auto trans codes. You probably have a bunch set so after they need to be cleared.

    Then just tune in or out anything you feel necessary.

    Like mark said, I simply ended up using a $0D auto bin. Also like him, I checked the flag for manual trans, turned off the error codes for the trans, and not much else to start with. After a little tuning and learning, I ended up copying in the DE and DFCO parameters from a $0E manual bin. There may be some other things I did, but cant remember right now.
