Mike, I don't even think you need to buy 3 copies, you should be able to share the app across device as long as they are all using the same Google Play account. :)

I got part of my order for the Arduino stuff yesterday. I'm already displaying stuff on the OLED display :) Now I just need to receive the CAN bus shield and talk to the MS :) I was looking for an empty gauge cases source as well and couldn't find anything so I went ahead and ordered cheap Chinese gauges http://www.ebay.com/itm/251182263708 and http://www.ebay.com/itm/251283313843. Hopefully they can be taken apart somewhat easily and I can install my display in there. The Arduino will be remote as its too big to fit in this thing I assume. I might do a proper PCB at some point but that is sort of out of my expertise. I won't work on a ALDL version of this but I will be sharing the source and detail so anybody can jump in.

Anyway, back to ALDLdroid, I plan to prepare the app entry for Google Play this weekend. That mean writing the description, taking both tablets and phones screenshots and a few other random stuff. It still won't show up in search tho as I still need to do some more testing.

Once you get to the point where you want a proper PCB, let me know, I need more experience laying out PCBs and it should be a fairly simple layout, knowing how Arduino stuff is.

    3400tZ,

Look at this (Flora, a 1.75" diameter Arduino Leonardo compatible): http://www.adafruit.com/products/659
And this ( 1.75" diameter, 16 segment, addressable RGB led "ring"): http://www.adafruit.com/products/1463
And finally this(.96" color OLED display with microSD card holder): http://www.adafruit.com/products/684

Make a sandwich of these; put the RGB LED ring on top for a "sweep" simulation, next the OLED that is visible inside the LED ring and then the Flora underneath. These will all fit inside a 2" gauge case with room for a custom circular circuit board or two also.

    Already ordered mine......

Mike, I've ordered my stuff from Adafruit and somehow missed that "Flora" line of Arduino compatible board... I still need a CAN bus shield or at least a custom PCB with a can bus transmitter and receiver. I think the regular Arduino will be easier for now but I will definitely keep that in mind. It's cool that they have a Flora version of the GPS and accelerometer has well... just missing the CAN one really :)

I will start a another thread for project very soon so we don't mix the two projects :D

    3400tZ,

Yea that 3 axis accelerometer looks pretty nifty and they got a GPS module too.

I've never worked with CAN bus, nothing I own is new enough!

What was the final name you gave the app.

To be honest, I haven't done any work in a week. So same old story, really not missing much at this point

Whenever I get burned out on a project like that, I take a few days/weeks off and just do a little documentation each day. That way you keep it fresh in your mind while keeping the pressure off.

By "not missing much" I meant not it's missing much til its ready, not that I don't miss the project, I still enjoy it. It is a ton a work tho :) I have a bit less spare time these days so I'm glad I'm where I'm at because it would take me a lot longer to get where I'm at now.

Did a lot more testing today, fixed a few more random bugs. Bugs are starting to be harder to find for me, that's a good thing! I also prepared most of the Play listing (that took forever). We getting closer and closer :)

I've been cleaning up code and adding comments and stuff this week. Nothing super important really. I just need to finalize the details and get that thing on Play! I've just been lazy lately :/
