The FTDI drivers are packaged in the app. If your tablet support USB host mode, it should work just fine.

Oh yeah, Nexus 7 will work :) Not sure about the ETA, I really wanted to get 160 baud ECM supports for the first version and its not as easy as I wanted.

Also I've not tested USB as much as Bluetooth, and I noticed yesterday some flakyness around connecting / disconnecting the cable and stuff, but nothing major. I should be able to fix that somewhat easily. That will leave the freaking 160 baud ECM stuff to figure out!!!

    An ELM327 obviously won't work :)

On the other hand, the red devil river adapter works flawless. On windows, with TunerPro, its always a bit of a battle because of how shitty the Bluetooth implementation is on Windows but on Android, it never let me down once. Connect every time and works great :)

careful with those.... the version pictures does not have all of the pins necessary to do 160 baud comms. i believe they have all required for 8192 though.

thanks for the feed back guys..... im running a 94 lt1 so I wont require the 160baud config. I figure for 5 bucks its worth a gamble..... and if it doesn't work, I just use the obd1 side to finish off my usb cable.

No new screenshot and no progress on the 160 baud stuff I'm afraid :/

Might have some time to work on the app tomorrow, we'll see!

The FTDI chips do have an asynchronous bit-bang mode:

Even thinking about trying to implement something like that would make my head explode... I'd just use the bluetooth adapter and be done with it!

Keep up the good work, and don't explode your head!

The 86 PCM should arrive Monday or Tuesday. If it works, I will capture some waveforms and post them. Might help to know exactly what you have to handle.

Cool Gary, let me know, I've gave up on 160 baud for now.

Tonight I fixed some issues with the USB connectivity (mainly two different cause of crashes).
