Timing Light Recommendations? I need to buy a new one.

My 20+ year old Craftsman timing stopped working after I dropped it to the floor.

I interested in what other members are using or would recommend using for a timing light. I'm thinking I should buy a new timing light with a LED display or turn dial to read actual timing. I'm thinking the new offerings from Craftsman are manufactured off-shore and won't last one or two uses let alone the countless uses I got from my 20+ year old Craftsman.

Let me know what you think,

    dave w

I've had this for a few years now and has always worked well, no issues. Was only about $80 then...

I continue to use a 20+ year old timing light that my Uncle or Grandfather bought.

I have tried a Mac timing light recently, that worked well, but as with any dial back timing light it didn't play well with wastespark DIS, I'm still trying to find one that will work.

I have a old actron given to me by someone, cant remember who. It has a knob on the back with 0-20. You can turn the knob to what advance you want, then turn the dizzy till the mark lines up with the 0* mark on the engine. Pretty nifty.
Check the local pawn shops or ebay, you might find a good old one, if your not sure about the quality of new ones.

dialback lights dont play too nice with msd or dis sometimes msd has multiple spark which confuses them and dis fires one half of the coil to earth and the other half from earth .i use both types often just to doublecheck.
