I have it on my desktop. Seems to work just fine, but I dont actually try to connect to anything with it (naturally...lol)
I mainly just use it on my desktop if I want to look at a bin or make some changes to one. I transfer it from my laptop to my desktop with a flash drive, enjoy a bigger screen and a mouse, then transfer it back to my laptop when I ready to burn it to a chip and datalog.

I am using the wifes laptop with 8 on it and have not been able to communicate with my truck. I am hoping to get to the point that I can data log and pay someone to help me tune this pig to get it on the road. At the pace im learning this stuff I might as well bolt on a carb and drive it to someone. Not really just frustrated

Big issues with new FTDI drivers and cables! Since your on windows 8 it's probably got the newest drivers that don't work! Read here and follow links for the fix.

At least your getting data! now we can see how it's doing! I know you've been working on this but really forget what all your working with? Get a data log and post it up with all the vehicle and engine specs and we'll see how your doing?

Yeah that's my next challenge, I saved about 5 or 6 minutes at start up and am unable to find it.

By default the data logs/.xdl files are saved in My Documents, TunerPro Files, Data Logs.

Hmmm? Did you ever hit stop? When you click stop it will open a window and prompt you to save the file with a name.

Not even sure how to take a screen shot on this thing, win8 is a real learning curve along with everything else I'm doing right now.

Open Windows Explorer and use the Search bar... if it's on your PC it will find it.

Well here's some tips for a good data log. Start the log with engine warmed up and driven a little. Try to get it in a few stages, like 15% Throttle through gears. 30% throttle through gears, 60% throttle through gears. One WOT run and when you get done let truck idle in gear for a minute, then in drive for aminute. Depending on where you live or have to go to get this data it should only take 10-20 minutes. Can split it up to a few data logs and extra stuff inbetween is fine.

Maybe practice on how to save logs?
