find the ECM # and mask ID to get correct ADX file and give it a shot? It would help as a test to see if it is a cable/computer issue or vehicle issue? Should be able to do 91 Cavalier in your sig too...

sorry I havent had time to update or really check anything against another car.
EagleMark: I noticed in your V3.8 ADX that you have the "connection (and monitor) command" set to "ABS Connection" does that have something to do with the cars abs break system? My abs doesnt work and the fuse under the hood is pulled out. would this have something to do with it?

That may be why you can't get engine? Sounds like it is set for ABS. Change them to Engine Connection and Engine Data... sorry I usually leave them like this. As you can see you can do transmission as well.
EDIT: Changes ADX file in $EE info thread to default Engine!

i will try this out and let you know back
edit: i am still having trouble, I am kind of led to believe that the issue maybe in the cord because i had data (but very sportatic and with a ton of errors as usual) the i unplugged the cord from the aldl port and tried again and got all errors
edit 2: video of my issue
The engine is running and I was getting some data as you can see by the *F guage moving from 0 a couple seconds in but mostly errors.

alright so the service number on the 89' iroc is 1227185, does that sound correct?
edit: using the 32.xdf and matching definition file from tunerpro's website we have data on the iroc, although the ses light is flashing with the cord plugged in.

went to o'reilly's and they were able to pull codes from my car so it has to be the cord or laptop.
I am at the point were its gotta be the cord making a bad connection somewhere or my laptop is just to slow to run tuner pro on win7

Seems like the CEL is flashing on both? What kind of cable do you have?
Usually when CEL flashes it is ALDL Pin A and B are jumped!
Cable connection on 8192 Baud systems get's data from ALDL Pin M. 160 Baud systems are on Pin E. The 89 IROC 1227165 may use both in 32B? $6E in the same ECM does use both.

no the cel doesnt flash in my z28, it did in the iroc tho.
I know that the 8192 baud (my car) hooks up with the jumper in the neutral position, the Iroc hooks up with the 10k resistor IIRC.
