1978 327 with auto trans convert to EFI

I have a rock crawler and I want to convert the engine that is in it to a EFI. I have a donor vehicle that has the ECM (16197427), and it was running so I know that the computer is good. What I am looking for is the minimum sensors that I would need to make the engine run correctly. Any information would be delighted. This is the first time I have done anything like this so the basic info would help.

    Welcome to the 80s!

If you can build a rock crawler you can install a TBI EFI system. Takes a little time, effort and learning. But you'll never regret it!

Ok read through the site. Having trouble finding the four letter code. Beside the ecm number there are four letters (BJYL) but those aren't located in the search on that page. I have the wiring harness, CTS, Oxygen sensor, I already have a electric fuel pump on the crawler, intake, throttle body, distributor, complete with EST, MAP sensor, What does the ESC do, I am pretty sure its on there because the engine was running when I got it, Do I need the VSS or can I by pass that, Got the EGR, Coil, MAT. Does it sound like I'm doing ok so far.

The page I referenced was for an older ECM that used a external ESC along with the knock sensor. Your 16197427 with BCC BJYL has the ESC (knock Module) in the Memcal. The Memcal is inside the PCM and also contains the chip with BCC BJYL. Looks like this... someday you'll need an adpater from Moates for a chip designed for your system.

You'll find BJYL and all TunerPro RT files on this page:

The wiring diagrams on this page are also helpful as it is a similar PCM:

Yes You'll need some kind of VSS, even though you have no E trans. The PCM likes to know if vehicle is moving or not. Makes a big difference in steady idle! Something that is important in rock crawling.

What is the electric fuel pump for? Carb? Not going to put out volume or pressure needed for the EFI. You'll also need to think about a return line from the TBI back to tank.

On the electric fuel pump if its already wired in do I need to use the wires from the acm and is a Holley electric fuel pump. When it comes to the VSS do I need that to make it run? Any other knowledge will be appreciated.
