I had to prove Dave W and everyone else wrong on this and it can be done! That said I would NEVER try it again, what a PIA! Would have been easier to swap to a 1227747 then run a 16197427 without VSS...

Then you noticed the same difference I did. Everything just seemed to work better when mated to the 4L60E.

They would be tricky to get running in an MPFI application.

The driveability was from the E-Trans and being able to dial in the shift points better. The 4L60E even gave better driveability than the 700r4 it replaced with a Holley 4bbl carb.

With no engine modifications or tuning done you can completely change the feel of how a vehicle drives with changing shift points in 4L60E. Good stuff!

My 5.7 Express van was one of the prime examples of how NOT to tune a 4L60E shift. The shifts were way too early and the converter clutch locked way too early and stayed locked too long.

Exactly! My 1998 Silverado with 3:73 gears and a towing package is the exact opposite!

Another prime example is a B body LT1. It's just a big slllluuuusssshhhhh, never feel a gear cahnge or TCC lockup. Flash in a Caddy V4P tow package bin, even stock and it feels more like a sport car or truck, few tweaks and wow!

Ok i found a 1227727 pcm started swapping out the bad 6870 ecm today and wondered about injector wiring the 7727 pinouts have injector grounds and i guess i have to bypass esc module then wire in a map sensor via the existing maf wires

i got the ecm out of a 3.1 v6 grand prix so i have to modify the memcal

i am using a od pfi maf bin even though it has map sensor installed will this cause problems?

Yes! There are a bunch of ZIp folders in this link, need to find the non MAF ones and read them. There are many changes needed to a stock TBI bin to make it run MPFI, then tuning.

It could be anything at this point? Have you checked to see what codes are set? Do a data log and post it up so we can see what's happening and can help... What bin did you start with? You can post it as well.
