data log of my idle problems

Well, I got off my duff and decided to try to see what my idle problem is. My truck has always had a stumble at idle. Multiple tuneups have not cured it, and I am getting curious about what is going on.
I did this log on my way to and from the dump today. Details... stock 305 (i think) 700R4 3.73 gears 30x9.50x15 tires. The truck has always run lean, but today I am curious about idle.

Wish I could help Jim, but I can't even open a adl file?

Here's instructions how to set up TPV5 cable connection. The $42 adx should be no issue.

I'm leaving town tomorrow for who knows how long? But will be checking internet. If you can get a TPV5 xdl log I'd be glad to help.

Thanks Mark, I have been thru that a half dozen times. I even tried a different laptop. No love. I have to believe that the cable I built is the problem, but I have no budget for a new cable right now as my work hours got cut.

    Jim I have the same problem. I have a 95 K1500 5.7.
I noticed last weekend when I was data logging that the spark was really jumping around when the idle was stumbling. Mark, could the spark be causing this issue?

Jim, I don't mean to highjack your thread but thought we might be dealing with the same issue.

I captured the last part of my tpv4 log on Jing. You can look at the video to see if anything looks wrong. I think I may have a throttle body problem, but not sure.

No it's not the same issue. The spark jumping around at idle in the $0D C4 type PCMs is normal. It's controlling idle RPM.

That was strange watching a video! I kept trying to click on and move stuff...

The IAC count is low, RPM was a little low and then towards end of log looks like IAC count went to nothing? So yes it could be a worn throttle shaft causing a vacuum leak? I think 50 RPM to idle would do wonders.

Will be able to help more when you get a TPV5 log. I wonder if there are any issues running TPV4 and TPV5 on same PC? I remember years ago I could not get TPV5 to work on a PC with WinALDL?

Well, I found my vacuum gauge tonight. The gauge is very steady, so no valve problem. It does drop as the idle slows down. When I first start, I have about 18 lbs of vacuum, when the idle slows down, it drops to around 16. The log starts with me sitting in the driveway after a long run. I have the truck in gear with my foot on the brake. When I put the truck in park is when the IAC drops to zero. The idle fluctuates both in and out of gear, and actually is their at higher RPM, but it is harder to feel.

I didn't see a lot of idle RPM but did see some 500 RPM. Man that's low! Or was that the low of the fluctuation?

14 IAC in gear at end of run and 1-0 in park is perfect... actually a little to perfect for stock motor and chip... you could close throttle blades 1/4 turn out to let IAC have more control?

I have seen the rpm drop all the way to 450, but 525 seems to be about where it spends most of the time. It does fluctuate a lot, every sample or 2 it changes. I will try closing the throttle blades. Have to go look up the exact proceedure, I think I will have to drill out the cup first.

Usuallt it's just a tin cap you can punch a hole in and tear out. Don't worry about the min air procedure just turn torx screw out 1/4 turn.

Okay, I am back on the thread. I adjusted the throttle blades 2 fill-ups ago, and my gas milage went from 15.3 to 16. I like. Here is a short TPRTV5 log I just made. I just sat and idled in the driveway as it was almost dinner time.

Well to start you have a Error 24 VSS and Error 32 EGR...

It must be a CA bin because the AIR pump is on the entire time at idle, this also means a Open Loop Idle. Even at end of log you got to 176f and still open loop.

May have gone a little to far on the throttle blade adjustment as IAC counts are 0.

Is this a manual bin? Data shows in Drive for entire data log

I wonder if I have something setup incorrectly, I don't have a CEL light on, but it is working correctly. (KOEO) Yes it is a CA bin (unfortunately) and I don't think it is a manual bin.

    The BCC is ABHM.
