I'm trying my darndest. I'm a PC Network Admin by day, fumbling tuner by night. If push comes to shove I can slap a wireless range extender onto my network to cover the garage and can do a Teamviewer session from there. If you're not familiar with Teamviewer it is a great PC remote control package that is free to use for personal use. We have a licensed copy to support our remote salespeople but I use the personal version to maintain my relative's PCs without having to drive all over creation for unpaid repair jobs. In the meantime I'm going to combine the Mode 8 silences in A111 and A115 as a seperate ADX and load them both up this evening. I'll be home from work around 4:30PM EST and should be able to post back by 5:00. After that, I'll be installing a radiator in my son's Crown Vic (I'd rather be tuning--it's much easier on the knuckles)

For what it's worth the Mode 8 Disable Comms Send bytes are the same for both A111.ADX and A115.ADX, both are 0xF1 0x56 0x09 0xB0. So for my test this afternoon I'll be trying out the A115.ADX and will post up my results.

I use Teamveiwer... may have time this evening if you don't get it.

Mode 8 silence is the same in A115 as it is in A111. A111 get's the error codes and data from other modules, A115 is the one for engine. So the way I set up A115 it's close... may need to loose the pause, shorten the pause... there's also the reply 66 that is now 67 and the extra has always got stable data.

This looks just like the LT1 I got working awhile back. I changed a few things in this ADX to similar... No disconnect for now, can add it later, works on LT1 like this and disconnects but not sure the other modules respond till after a restart.

Success! A115.ADX works! The car must be running before you connect the ALDL. Unfortunately I don't have enough time right now to dig into it further and try out the other ADX's but hopefully I will have some more time this evening after I get my kid's radiator installed. Thanks very much, free tech support for my two new best friends, Eagle Mark and Robert Saar!

Robert taught me all I know about the ADX data side... guess he's pretty good!

Uh oh, it's not consistent. I only got two successful connections out of 30-ish connection attempts. I tried all different combos of fire up the car with all cables unplugged, start-shutdown-start back up again, connection repeats, I tried changing the macro repeats to twenty, I tried increasing the pause to as high as 1200ms, etc. I tried both the A115.ADX and the new Corvette ADX that you uploaded for me.

and i'm reminded more and more of why even though i want a 90-95 vette, i don't think i want one this badly.

then again, it may give me the motivation to get everything functioning as well as other applications.

I was never a Corvette guy before, always rode my Kawasaki's instead. I took one for a test drive on a lark and I was hooked. It is the closest thing to a race car that I ever drove. I picked up a 'mechanics special' for a song and have been wrenching ever since. But when it does run, it's a heck of a lot of fun. Even my wife likes cruising around in it. And it's downright scary when Autocrossing, a real challenge.

On the datalogging front, I downloaded a program that will let me capture traffic on a virtual serial port. The plan is to fire up Datamaster and attempt to record what it sends through the serial so I can duplicate it in Tunerpro V5. Don't know whether or not it will work, but at least it's a plan.

Looks like the missing link was the ABS system. I started with JeepsAndGuns' edit of Mark Mansur's $8D-1227730.ADX. James93LT1 sent me his ADX which was for a different datastream but it contained the bytes to shut down the ABS system. I copy/pasted his Connect macro into the JeepsAndGuns ADX and voila, 100% connection. I didn't bother to copy the Disconnect macro since I always shut the car off when I'm done datalogging so I don't need the CCM/ABS to start up again. I can provide the Disconnect macro if anyone would like a copy. Thanks for all your help! --GD

EDIT: Forgot to note that the engine must be running, key-on-engine-off is a no-go.

Darn, I had added the ABS silence in 94-95 LT1, I should have caught that.

    Nice work!

    Hi,

should the final file work with a '91 Corvette L98? I tried to connect with this interface using pin A and M

    8192schm.gif

Connected to the serial port of the laptop the "Test For Valid Interface" says "Cable found and functional".

Connectred to laptop and car ('91 Vette AT, cable to Pin A & M) the test says "Cable not found or not functioning". Ignition on as well as engine running ...

Not sure if 90 and 91 Corvette use the same ALDL data stream?

But the cable will say not functioning when hooked to car. After you get cable squared away with the install always use the same USB port... opps, your on serial. Haven't done that in years...

    90 and 91 should be the same, they're both 7727 $8D setups. 92 would be different(LT1), as would the early ZR1 stuff(8E.... i think?).

Does anyone have an adx file that works with the 1990-91 Corvette that has a dash setup in the adx that goes beyond 6400 rpm's. I have a high revving motor and use the 1990 Corvette adx file earlier in this post, but it's tach only goes to 6400 rpm. I typically rev to 7200 rpm and would love if one of the functioning adx files had a working tach setup to show up to 8000 rpm (or at least 7200.)
    Thanks
    Sal

Old thread but thanks for all your work on this everyone. It looks like this was exactly what I needed to get my aldu1 connected to my '90 vette.
