    Wiring verification?

    So here's what I've got...
    MAF
    A - low ref GRD? - PCM B4?
    B - IAT - PCM B9
    C - GRD - PCM B4?
    D - Ignition +12v
    E - MAF - PCM F12

Can I tie both the grounds (A&C) to pin B4 on the PCM?

Anybody know if the JTR 2k(pulses per mile) VSS will work on pins F2 & F3, or will I need to snag a DRAC module from the boneyard?
Or, the Jeep has an 8k(pulses per mile) VSS for the cruise would that work?
Appears in the MAF .bin there is a setting you can change it's @ 40 per trans shaft revolution?
Not sure what the math would be...

Like I said, I have never seen one or measured one, so I was not sure what the ID of the MAF was. That seems like it would work pretty good with mine, I am running a 3.5in intake tube going to my TB.

I am running the JTR 2k vss no proplems with my 7427 $0D. I have one wire from it on pin F13, and the other hooked to ground.
Does switching to MAF change where the vss is inputted to the pcm?

My 3.5" K&N won't fit over the MAF inlet, so going to head to a yard today and grab a flex tube from a Ford.
I know for a fact the 4.6 tbird uses an adapter tube from the MAF to the air cleaner housing that will work.
Probably other models too, maybe crown vic? so shouldn't be hard to find one.
Bugs me because had one and I sold it for $20, and now I need it of course.
Maybe I'll get lucky and find a MAF pigtail, but I doubt it mostly older stuff @ this yard.

According to what I read online the MAF .bin code is written to have the VSS signal input on pins F2 & F3.
That is why I asked above about it.

This MAF is also used on the GTO and the Corvette, so doubt it would hinder performance or create any issues
In stock trim the GTO is about 400HP, and the Corvette ~350-400hp depending on year.

    MAF installed

Success @ the local yard for a change this morning.
Found a pigtail too from an '01 Olds Aurora, wasn't from the MAF it was from the EGR?
Different wire colors but it'll work.

    Found the adapter....source mid 90's t-bird w/ 3.8 (4.6 same one too).
    It's 4" I.D. on one side and 3.5" I.D. on the other.

    adapter.jpg

So with the above adapter and ~2.5" length of 3.5" tube the MAF is installed and I didn't have to buy a new air filter.
    Or buy a $15 adapter + shipping.
Checked the local parts stores yesterday, they could order the same one as Summit carries, but would take too long.
Summit could have gotten it to me in 1 day since I'm close to NV warehouse, but handling + part ~$20 and I'm impatient/uber cheapskate.

    maf.jpg

Total cost @ the boneyard was $7.76 for the adapter + pigtail + MAP connector(mine had a broken locking tab).

Got interrupted by kid #1's soccer game, but now I can run and get some shrink tubing and solder up/wire up the MAF pigtail.
May have it running on the MAF TBI code tonight?

    Sweet heatsink for the EST!

You need some more pluming for cold air... I did a cool setup on a Scout years ago and plumbed it right into firewall to get air from vents under windshield because there was no room to grill area.

LOL Pentium II slot 1 heatsink, I have a bunch of them.
They fit and work really well though.

That is the plan on my intake. Just haven't had enough time/motivation to finish.
Eventually there will be a box bolted to the firewall so it can suck from the cowl.
Went to 3 stores guess there is a shrink tube shortage??? Found some that'll work but what a waste of time!

Wish I could help but never done this. So please do continue to keep us informed.

I can help with shrink wrap... got tired of cost of little pieces and went to Fasenal and bought all sizes in black and red, they come in 3 foot lengths cheap. $50 has lasted almost 2 years and plenty left.

    Will do....

Sent a request to the author of code on thirdgen yesterday got a reply tonight.
I'll pass on any info I can to help anyone else who wants to try it out.

Honestly very impressed with how well it runs w/o any tuning.

I was going to comment on the heat sink too...lol. I have mine mounted in almost the exact same location, I guess great minds (or jeep owners) think alike.

After I posted that last night, I got on rockauto and pulled up the map for a 01 5.3 1/2 ton truck and did the list of what all it fits. I saw just like you listed, where it fit the vette and gto, and figured it would probably be ok. Gonna head to the pull a part today and see if I have any luck finding one, they showed to have a couple vehicles on that list. You have perked my intrest, like mark said, definately keep us updated as you go.

That 128 and 128 is a little to perfect? You sure it's Closed Loop and BLM enabled?

It's definately closed loop, and the numbers do change.
Much more frequently/faster than stock $OD bin.
I'll have to rob my '90 of the wideband to see what's going on and to tune.

Well I scored one of the MAF's from a 02 cadillac something with a northstar. Gonna hang onto it and keep a eye on this thread and see how this goes.

Other than the lack of a working VSS it's gone very smoothly/easily.
Played around with the .adx file a little today.
Here's a better screenshot of the vitals.
    maf-dash.jpg

Still haven't robbed the WBO2 from my '90, and have done no tuning @ all.
It runs remarkably well. A little rich, but the code does a great job managing fuel.

And an INT screenshot from the same log...

    Looks SWEET!!!

Where does one find these elusive bin, ADX and XDF files? Are the VSS and the MAF the only pins changed/added?
Familiar with 1227747 and 16197427 PCMs
