On the blue memcal, one side will show a prom with a 4 letter BCC code. with that we can determine what you have.

Also a picture of the ECM would help, I find it hard to believe there are no numbers at all on the ECM. The stickers are rather difficult to remove.

I think that was a phone number in your post? I removed it, not good to put on the internet.

The little silver tag on chip will have the four letter BCC we are looking for.

1998 5.7L engine, did you change the intake to TBI?

When you get ready here's how it goes together:

    You have the wrong MEMCAL.

While it MAY work for how you intend to use the MEMCAL, it may also cause problems.

If I were in your shoes, I would find a V6 MEMCAL from a FWD car, since they are plentiful, and solder in the hardware cyl select jumper to change the fueling scheme to 8 cyl.

You could also figure out if the hardware cyl select portion on the TBI MEMCAL is set the same way as an MPFI MEMCAL.

Either way, the LHM (Limp Home Mode) will not be correct for an MPFI 8 cyl.

Alternatively, you could find a proper 8 cyl MPFI MEMCAL if you want a chance of LHM to work, but these MEMCALs are usually expensive, and there's no guarantee that LHM will work in a modified application.

BSRC is for a 7.4L Auto TBI motor in a 16156930 PCM, it was superseded to a CAJS in a 16197427 PCM

    To what? TBI or MPFI?

You have a MPFI ECM and a TBI memcal, don't know what injection or transmission yet?

Nope, still TBI, but more so, it's for a completely different family of ECMs, that don't use MEMCALs, but a PROM in a carrier.

I now have a ECC with this number on it 7-7730 and this number on the harnes plug 07773000122160024 and they do plug togeather and the car runs, but is very lean. I have an air fuel ratio gauge in the car and it reads in the 15 range most of the time. Also motor pings.
