For a truck or van I'm on board with what your doing creating a torque monster! Have no need for high RPM. Not sure how that Edlebrock intake would play out there, hurt or help, but it's still sexy!

Right now I'm broke and the truck is just about perfect with 116k on it... so I'll be watching you!

Yep...Torque monsters are fun.....Just glad I have a torque monster of a low 14 second daily driver while I put this one down to swap parts around. I just hope my old 5.7 can put down the power this 5.6 does. 388 RWTQ @ 2,900 and 296 RWHP at 4,900. The valve covers have not yet been lifted nor have the exhaust manifold/primary catalytic converter assemblies been touched. Long tubes add about 20 RWHP, a good exhaust another 20 HP at redline, and a 100 shot of N20 should let me see 400 RWHP and enough torque to push this 5,400 lbs monster down the road.

I'd put a cammed eagle head 6.1 in it before I went LS.

    My Ram had a stock head 5.7 with only a 212/212 @ .050 cam.

I would still rather stick with a good running 383 and perhaps a small nitrous shot.

Torque monsters and heavy vehicles...lol. My plan is to one day (if I ever get the money) is to rebuild a cadillac 500cid and put it in my cherokee. I already have the 500, bought it years ago. Its just been setting torn apart wrapped in garbage bags in storage since then. It needs a complete overhaul.
I think last time I weighed it, my cherokee was 4600lbs.

I've been kicking myself for not going 383 when I did my truck engine. The extra stroke would help a lot. This 357 isn't as impressive as I was expecting. But I'm sure the 3/4ton drivetrain and dump truck trans have something to do with it. haha

So what's that van weigh? I scaled my 1998 Silverado ECLB 2wd the other day at 4950. Other then wider tires, aluminum wheels and a tonnou cover it had no more then 100 pounds of stuff and half tank of fuel.

My first introduction to toque was in high school, my auto shop teacher and after school boss let me drive his new Lincoln Continetal Mark 4, man what a looooooong hood! Anyway highway speed of 60 and half throttle was 80 in a heartbeat. Guess that's why big inch luxury car motors like it and Caddy were so popular swaps especially in 4x4s

Depends on how many tool boxes I have stuffed under the rear sofa bed and how much gas is in the 30+ gallon tank, but it is somewhere between 5,800 and 6,200 with me in it.
