    .tun file help for 98 ~ 00 Black Box 5.7 Vortec / 4L80E

I'm helping with a 1998 K2500 Diesel to L31 5.7 Vortec Conversion. The donor vehicle for the engine, computer, and wiring harness was a 1997 Suburban. The challenge is the 1998 K2500 has a 4L80E, and the 1997 Suburban had a 4L60E. The other challenge is trying to keep the 98 K2500 as original factory as possible (local emissions laws).

I'm thinking about upgrading the 1997 Black Box computer a 1998 ~ 2000 Black Box and use my EFI Live System to re-program the 98 ~ 00 Black Box.

What I need help with is finding a stock .tun file for a 1998 ~ 2000 Black Box computer that was used with L31 5.7 liter Vortec engine and 4L80E transmission.

I think I can segment copy paste from the files attached, and make this happen?

As long as both files have same OS it's a go. Open the file you want changed, File Load Alternate for comparison, Edit, Copy entire Segmant and chose the tranny.

Or I think I can do the 1997 PCM with TunerCat if we have both calibrations.

Here you go this is from my personal 98 K2500 5.7 4L80E. I will be doing a 0411 swap on it very soon. Why not do the 0411 swap while you are at it. It will look factory and should pass a smog test. Say it was required in order to put the newer model year engine in the truck. Most likely they won't even notice anyway.

    Thank you very much!

I've thought about the '0411. Not sure if the '0411 will be the final decision. I'm in the research phase for the 98 PCM.

PM Lextech for a diagram, he's got them all dialed in for the 0411 swap, probably very easy to go 97 to 98, same plugs. little wiring change, PCM looks the same and drops in.

Excellent suggestion. If this was the original 1997 Suburban that I was converting to the '0411, I think Lextech diagrams would be used.

I've been thinking about some of the differences that might not be in Lextech diagrams, because of this diesel to gas conversion. The donor 1997 Suburban wiring harness is for the 4L60E transmission and the 1998 K2500 has a 4L80E. There are going to be some changes required in the donor 1997 Suburban wiring harness because of 4L80E transmission. The diesel computer is under the dash, so I'll need to splice some of the diesel computer wiring (TOSS, TISS, & VSSB comes to mind) from the old diesel computer into the donor 1997 Suburban harness.
