    Chip Offsets stock chip?

    Can anyone help with correct offsets and chip type in the stock MEMCAL. I would like to copy several BINs to file and forward them if you want them for the library. Not sure what qualifies to go into the library. Recently found out how difficult some of these memcals- bins are to find. I needed a rare BIN recently and found a local salvage yard lost over a thousand ECMs in a fire. I am lucky there was a BIN in the library collection that worked. Thanks

    To read stock chips in Moates AutoProm or Burn 1, 2 Flash and Burn software or in TunerPro.

    How do you know the chip type and file size in the MEMCAL? I noticed a new Sticky on this topic. This would be very helpful for us less proficient. (Challenged) Thanks

    I was working on that as well, just got confused as to how to organize it.

    For now you could look at TunerCat website. It has the chip used in each ECM/PCM. See how many?

    Or just ask, we probably have them memorised...

    if you have the XDF for a given BIN, you could look at the XDF header settings to see what it is expecting.

    4000 = 27C128
    8000 = 27C256
    10000 = 27C512

    Two out of three copies looked good. The one I didn't post has a couple obvious errors like a zero in the middle of a timming table????
    To all... Good info. Thanks

    huh.... ADRH is a $46 BIN. interesting that the $55 XDF seems to work for it. and FWIW, it's for an A-body with a 4T60.

    Tuner Cat shows it as $55. I looked at it with $55 and thought things looked plausible.

    value at 0008 shows $46.... then again, TC lists 5B and 5B7... and there is literally no difference between the two except for per-model specific calibration, so they are the same mask.

    weird that GM would make a new mask, yet the calibration area remains identical.... i actually did a compare of ADRH($46) and ALZR($55) since they're both 87 A-bodies with a 2.8/4T60.... almost all of the differences are in the algorithm. calibration portions are almost identical. interestingly enough, near the end of the calibration, where there is a lot of blank space in ADRH, there is more calibration in ALZR.... so $55 is actually $46 with added functionality.

    Ouch!

    Remember the changing of the mask I went through with $D8 being changed to $85 ? At least when they did that all BCC went from Axxx to Bxxx
