Little dark on the video... but the lower idle and smoother was the first thing I noticed!

I never noticed beofre the express van grill, but in your video I could only see your grill, it looks just like the grill on my 98 Silverado.

I am pulling a trailer this weekend to St. Louis, wondering about getting this done before I go? I have the parts, might have to scrounge a PCM....

Can you get away with NOT putting in the PRNDL wires temporarily?

Yes, But it would be "BEST" to install them when you get the chance. If you get a P1336 code for the Crank Relearn Procedure, you will need those 4 wires hooked up to do the relearn. You can cheat and jump a couple of wires for the relearn---But it is best to hook them up.

I did not have to have them hooked up to do a Crank Relearn and still do not have them hooked up. In HP Tuners you have an option for a P/N switch, just choose NONE and it will use the internal switches in the 4L60E. My Idle speeds respond perfectly and the ECM knows which gear it is in.

Well that would take out the hardest part of the swap! Fat chance of getting EFI Live to add anything, but if we had a disassembly we could write a CAX file to add the parameter? You know of any LS1b dissasemblies started?

Haven't looked to see if TunerCat has this option?

Tunercat does have that parameter. I always tell people to hook up the 4 Trans Range wires because I never know what software the vehicle may be tuned with and it saves headaches on my end.

Agreed - Tunercat has this parameter - at least for some Gen III OS anyway. See attached PDF as an example ...
