    Just got my AutoProm!

Just came this morning... Where to start? Guess I have to get the g2 soldered in first ...

Does anybody have suggestions on how to start? Is there a bin that would be close for my 406sbc or should I just start datalogging and go from there?

Excited to finally be doing this

Re-read EagleMark's introduction to tuning... Good info.

What's your opinion... Would I be better off trying to work from a 454 bin to start or the 350 one that's in it?

Running 7747 ECM now with adyr bin... Obviously lean. Just start by datalogging it and see what I have/don't have?

Thanks guys. Were it not for this site I would probably still be carbureted! Lots of great info here.

First thing to do is get esimated HP of engine, figure what injectors at what pressure is correct, adjust pressure and then calculate BPW.

    injectorsizing.xls‎
From this post works well with TBI.

Then you can move on to tuning.

What are cam specs @.050 ?

As far as I know it is the stock cam, so 203e 196i with 112 separation.

Not sure though, as I did not build it. It could have a mild performance cam in it...

The injectors are currently the stock 350 injectors. I know I have a lot of work to do and a lot to learn yet so bear with me...

I googled images for bear with me and this is what I got...

4.1555 bore x 3.75 stroke = 406.87 cubic inches. 61lb/hr injectors at 85% duty cylce .05 BSFC to support 257 HP needs 20 PSI fuel pressure will flow 75.66 lb/hr and BPW of 132.

That's only a guess on HP so no WOT high RPM runs without a wide band O2 sensor to see if it has enough fuel!

Apply the BPW hack in $42-1227747-Vx.xdf so you can watch injector duty cycle.

Well I'm gonna have to show how little I know and ask what exactly that means...

I could have said "bare" with me instead. That'd probably make for a fun image search

I'll pass on that image search... I knew "bear with me" would be fun!

It means to start you need 20 PSI fuel pressure.

In your bin set BPW to 132.

Open XDF file in TunerPro with your bin file and Parameter Type choose Categories because I set them up, choose Hacks and follow the instructions for BPW and may as well do Spark advance. Save bin with new name... learn to save each bin like bin1, bin 2 etc...

And keep a detailed log of your bin file changes. It will help you in troubleshooting and diagnosing how and why things happened/improved/failed.

Ok, so I got a chance to do some more reading.

looks like stock I have ~12 psi fuel pressure? So need to increase that to 20? Is the regulator adjustable on these?

And change BPW to 132 from the stock 135?

Looked in Tunerpro couldn't find "Hacks" as you described? I must be doing something wrong...

Got my G2 adaptor soldered in the other night, so I'm all ready to cause destruction

    Thanks for you patience guys!

You can mave the factory fpr adjustable. Its very easy. To get that kind of pressure you will need a bigger pump and regulator spring. Personally I would go with bigger injectors at stock fp and copy the bpw, offset, etc from the donor vehicle bin takes some of the guesswork out.

So the injectors will not be sufficient in their stock form?

Bigger injectors or more fuel pressure. There's barely enough fuel from stock 61lb injectors for a stock motor, you added approx 60 cubic inches that needs to be fed!
