    converting to gm tbi

I have a carb 305 in a El Camino. I am going to convert to tbi. I have a 1227 ecm to use. Do I want a harness from 88-92? Will it matter what car it is from, camaro, caprice, truck. Thanks

A 1227??? There's more to that number and the end is really the most important in identifying what you have.

Likely a 1227747, but would be good to know before giving specifics on parts.

That being said, just about any TBI harness could be modified to work.

Here is the ecm number 1227747 would it be better to use a 305 throttle body or would one from a 350 be just as good. I want good mpg. Thanks

Now if you had an ECM with a 305 5.0L engine and your trans and just about ann TBI harness it can be nmade to work.. And a TBI unit from a 305 your set.

I got a harness from a 91 firebird and I have it all cleaned up. I have a distributor from a 88 chevy truck. I see the harness has the four prong connector for the distributor. The distributor also has a place for a two prong connector. Will I need a short wire harness for the coil to distributor? Thanks

Yes, you will need that short harness.
