I'm looking at the wiring schematic, so I'm not sure what the 1x signal is called in the service manual. The 1x signal is an output from the Integrated Direct Ignition System (IDIS) Module pin G.

Your right! I had the right vehicle selected but clicked Ignition, not vehicle sensors.

Still not sure... 1projest2many will probably know what you want. But even then I don't know if I can get a picture of screen to show the sample.

If not when your ready you can borrow my osiliscope?

I have an oscilloscope. I'm still thinking about making a crank position sensor setup. I might be able to sync the 1x signal with the TBI small cap distributor?

Still would be easier if we could just do software...

Here's some samples of DIS primary and secondary. Zip is higher resolution without forum optimization.

I haven't abandoned this project. A few pics of some online information I've been gathering. I'm wanting to better understand how the crankshaft position sensor works. Seems maybe a modified harmonic balancer or a bolt-on harmonic balancer mounted trigger wheel might be an option to use a factory definition file. I'm thinking I could bench test a trigger wheel similar to way I bench tested the '0411 trigger wheel (see attached pic).

Maybe I'll need to have the trigger wheel 2x for a V8? Maybe I could have DIS with a V8, waste spark?

I seen a write up on a fiero forum where a guy had his balancer machined at a machine shop to match this and used a Ford crank sensor to swap dizzy for dis.
No need to re-invent the wheel. But we can make it better
