    '98 L31 swap to 12212156 questions...

OK. so I have completed my '0411 swap into my 1998 Tahoe. After compiling what i believe to be ALL the L31 '2156 files I could find, I believe my running issue may just boil down to the crankshaft reluctor wheel...

I just a newb at tuning(starting with my LT1 '69 chevelle). Please be kind... In the assembly of the L31 engine, should I have changed the crank reluctor from the 4 pole type to the 24x wheel?? Or might there be a change in the OS timing that can be done??

My biggest issue that i seen to be having is with my current version of Universal Patcher v22.12. I learned of this incredible app by way of GearHead, and hope for some thoughts.... While doing a view of files one by one rather than compare, I had noticed that in the dialog window(lower left), the log was showing the data being set to compare file... While no file was loaded into the compare field!!! Now for my problem. After doing a compare file check in TunerPro, I noticed the data had been changed from the files being viewed in UniPatch..

Has anyone come across this issue, or could it just maybe be my windows 10 POS doing the unthinkable of doing the swap for me(God help me survive the trama!!)

Looking forward to any input or guidance and appreciate you all!!!!

If you are running an L31 van file no need. That's why the 0411 swap is so popular, because in stock form they still used the 4x crank trigger and a distributor.

Personally the only changes I would make to a stock file before initial start up would be disable VATS. That should be all you need to fire it up.
No need to re-invent the wheel. But we can make it better

0411 and P59 both used 4x crank and a distributor. The 4.3L were setup with a 3x and distributor and offered with both PCMs as well.
