Here is a screen shot of the VE tables in a 16197427 $0D. This is what I am running. Its the 94-95 tbi pcm. I really like it and you can swap to it without much trouble. Once I swapped I never regretted it, its the best thing I did to my fuel injection system.

Separate idle and driving tables? That'd be nice... and more resolution. And one table instead of 2 for VE that covers all the way up to 6400rpm. Maybe someday. So ve2 was probably to increase resolution and provide tuning above 3200rpm... I dunno?

On another topic... AFR setting to 14.2 instead of 14.7 ? We have 10% ethanol everywhere here. Per http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...ll=1#post11845 -- I wonder if that'd help make getting the BLMs fall in line easier. I don't expect stellar mileage but a little increase wouldn't hurt.

I've adjusted the injector bias to 1.6 ms ... the BLMs look workable, at long last; I took it on the highway, ran amazing... for once I have to worry about running too rich instead of too lean!

    RPM/MAP 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 100
    400 117 108

    800 108.89 108.17 108 126.33 113 125 149
    1200 108.23 109.33 108 108 112.11 133.25 135
    1600 108 108.26 108.93 108.46 108.93 112.79 117.29
    2000 110.26 108 108 110.5 118 125.17 126.83
    2400 114.44 110.62 109.83 114.32 116.39 127.33 126
    2800 123 115.31 116.55 117 121.7 125.44 125.5
    3200 108.33 110.88 112.33 117.67 121.2 120

So, am working on that. I can't believe how much more power this thing has on the hwy. It's just astonishing. Runs great in city driving too, lots of torque off the line, etc.

There's a dead spot I want to chase down and there's that problematic 800rpm / 80kpa spot to worry about, too. I feel like, for once, I'm getting close.

The VE tables are way over 100% in a few spots, though, so I may try to continue increasing INJ Bias until I can get the tables down below 95 (total). I will also continue trying to find vac leaks but no luck so far.

I have to change the fuel filter AGAIN since it's gunked up with rust and crap from the gas can I filled with the other night. *sigh* Almost didn't make it home because the filter was so plugged. Buying a $4 filter every three days is getting old.

I just got done doing some MPG testing in a 98 Vortec truck and setting stoich from factory 14.7 to 1 (which was correct for gasoline then) AFR to 14.2 was 1/2 to 1 MPG improvement.

It's amazing how EFI will run if you give it what it needs. Like FUEL! If your clogging filters like that you don't have a chance to ever get a good tune, it will change as filter clogs. Hope you have a pre pump filter and a post pump EFI filter installed. One protects pump and one after pump rated for EFI is a much finer filter needed to protect injectors.

But with all the increase your doing I would still have to find what's wrong? Looking at your BLMs after increasing injector bias by... HUGE! I'd be looking at injectors, sounds like they are not 5.7L injectors.

Nice. That'd be a huge improvement on a Jeep :) I will adjust accordingly.

Drat. I will put in a pre-pump filter.

I'm probably going to have to just dump the tank and wash it out. That jerry can held more rust than gas, I think. Hard to believe 4 gallons out of a rusty jerry can causes this much trouble.

Two steps forward, three steps back.

They aren't. They're front injectors from a Vette CrossFire Injection system.

I have $45 in my Jeep fund. So, no injectors for me for awhile. And no fancy fuel gauges. Or... I do have a gift card for amazon so hope they carry something I can use...

I'm having a new issue is with ASYNC mode. With INJ Bias jacked up to the moon, I have to take a TON of fuel out of the lower rpms/kpas. Now at very light throttle, ASYNC is kicking in and the motor is losing power; feels like someone keeps stabbing the brakes. Idle is becoming a challenge.

Too many issues to deal with.

Time to refocus and sort of start over.

Checking for vac leaks is free... can do that while waiting for my "allowance" to build up the jeep fund again.

Picking up where I left of here.

Several months ago, back in October '12, I ran out of gas, filled the tank from a jerry can only to later discover the can was full of rust... very very fine rust particles which proceeded to clog filter after fuel filter and make a general mess of everything.

I've finally changed the gas tank, 'rebuilt' the throttle body (soaked, cleaned, new kit installed), and installed correct injectors that were supposed to have been rebuilt.

I did notice the truck started up and idled with the stock bin, no problem versus before where I couldn't even get it to run at all. So I'm back to VE tuning, and trying to remember what I did last time. Will post updates as I progress...

So I've made an initial swipe at the VE stuff, gotten almost all the BLMs in the 126-129 range from 800-2800 rpm, 30-80 kPa. That was actually *easy* once I set the BPW back down--to 134 in this case. VE1+2 < 100 across the board with a little room to adjust, too.

So, it would appear I've gotten rid of the lean condition everywhere, and was easily able to tune. Whew.

    Now onto timing tweaks...
