    Carb Tuning applied to EFI...

I guess I was starting to get the hang of carb tuning, after all -- while tuning the ECM fuel mixture for the first time I could pretty much tell by sound and feel when I was rich or lean without looking at the sensor/BLM/etc. It was kind of neat to sort of check my mental calibration. :)

Of course I couldn't divine the KPA by feel, sound, smell, or ESP... :) So not much chance of actually tuning this thing without all the handy numbers and cells...

People tend to end up rich tuning without sensor readings. Engines run better on the rich side of stoich. Yes, it is harder to get RPM and MAP by sound but if you monitor scantool and drive the same vehicle enough you can get a feel for where the engine's at.

It'll sound better when the cells are right!
