...something inadvertently and screwed up the temp stuff. Hot code when Cold and cold code when hot....wierd

That comment above alerted me.
You temp sensor is the correct NTC or PTC type ?? (Negative or Pos Temp Coefficient).. It will scale the wrong way if wrong type is connected.
