gen 5 MAF vs "LS7" gen 4 MAF - are they the same but different?

bought the intake tract from a 2018 corvette z51. This has a spot for the card style MAF, but of course its the gen 5 8-pin MAF sensor

i have a stock tune from a z51 corvette that i can read the MAF calibration from.
    i also have an "LS7" 5 pin card-style MAF

my question is, would the MAF airflow calibration be the same between these two? I realize that the gen 5 maf has some additional capabilities like reading absolute pressure in the intake, etc, but is the MAF portion of it the same such that i could use the calibration from the stock z51 tune?

    thanks!

    Hiya,
I am not sure if they are the same. You definitely want to start with the MAF transfer function for the tube you are using.

thats kinda the problem, i have a maf transfer function for the tube but its for the gen 5 maf not the gen 4 maf.

i suspect that they are the same, but no real way to confirm

I don't have the 2018 vette maf function. What year/make model are you trying to put this intake on? Post it if you can or pm me. I can check against whatever you are trying(if I have it).
If it's a different tube, chances are it has a different transfer function. I'll help what I can.

this tube is off a 2018 z51 corvette. i have the stock tune from a 2014 and 2015 z51 vette in .hpt form which as you know includes the MAF data. i will be using the tube/filter box in basically stock form. the MAF is in the tube hanging off the filter box, so i assume that the transfer function in my application will end up very similar to stock for the 'vette.

(in theory, the 2014-2019 vette is similar if not the same)

i am putting it on a 1998 volvo v90 station wagon that has been LS swapped (currently with an L59 and 4L60e). it just so happens that shape wise, it lines up almost exactly with what i need for it to work.

it will be sitting like this. the MAF is in the portion that is attached to the filter box.

I don't think anyone frowns on that, especially in its own thread.

What ecm/pcm are you wanting to make this work with?

either an 0411 or a P59 with dbc support.

all the applicable .hpt files that i have attached. easy enough to interpolate the data from this and copy it into P01/P59 format, i just dont know if its even applicable to the gen 4 MAF

edit: had to zip them up due to the file size limit on hpt files set as 1.71 MB

Converting a GenIV MAF to GenIII PCM, I copy the values that overlap and interpolate between. That gives a decent starting point.

I am also about to go through this learning curve putting my SBC on an E67 to run a 6L90E.

well, i THOUGHT i had an LS7-style card MAF hanging around, but turns out i accidentally bought some other stupid thing from the junkyard that won't be useful at all.

    so........might just try a gen 5 MAF :)
