Just got a Bosch 1300 scan tool. It will scan a 1992 Cadillac 4.9L in a Fiero just fine. When I try it on a 1995 3800 S/C in a Fiero and I get an internal error 0x0004 and it won't scan. If I then try it on the Cadillac engine again it won't scan. Go on-line and refresh the software and it then scans the Cadillac. Try the 3800 again and it scrambles the software. The 3800 is an OBD-1 PCM with an OBD-II DTC connector. The DTC is wired per the 1995 3800 factory service manual. However there are wires that are opens since the Fiero does not have all the modules the donor car had. I came across one other source where the user was having the same problem with a 95 engine. So far Bosch is no use after I told them it was an engine swap. Any ideas?
