    Hello from Central Florida

General Info - Retired Ship's Chief Engineer (love Diesels, I drive one).

Now have time to work on my 1987 Convertible and 1992 Convertible. The 87 is a work in progress, one of the few Factory Convertibles, the only White and Tan one known to exist. Will be a show car trailer Queen. Has the LB4 Carbureted engine (a true dog) with a 700R4 Tranny.

The 1992 is another story - This one will be my experimental car. Has the stock 305 with a 4L60 Auto. I have 1988 350TBI block that is going to be a 383 making close to 400 FT/LBS of Torque because that is what puts you back in your seat. HP SHOULD be @ 400 HP, but I am not looking for a street racer.

that is a rare car for sure. i love those cars. there are a few '87 convertibles where i live, one was actually turned into a convertible years after it was built, but by ASC, the vin comes up as a normal car if you check with GM.

make sure the 1992 gets properly reinforced.....they definitely start twisting and falling apart with really stout engines. my '91 was so bent even with the stock 305 that we had to twist it straight again before we could get the subframe connectors to line up. they are not very strong cars without a roof.
