    howdy!

Howdy all! I'm Michael and I recently took the plunge into a TBI conversion for my 1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

I'm using a GM TBI kit from CustomEFIs that I bought from the guy 10+ years ago when I was still single and could drop $700 without thinking much about it. :D Sad to say it's been sitting on a shelf all this time.

Now that my hobby budget is thin as tissue paper, and spread across Jeeps, robotics, electronics, hunting, and numerous other hobbies, I'm hoping to apply some of what I've learned in robotics over the last five years to shave TBI tuning costs to the bone.

If you're curious about my robotics stuff, check http://www.bot-thoughts.com/

The GM ECM is a fascinating device. The 68HC11 assembly instruction set reminds me of my old Commodore 64 with a 6510. Some day I'd love to try and build my own ECM with a modern microcontroller. Not sure if I am ready to blow up my engine yet though. :)

First I have to get the existing 7747 tuned. :D Well, actually first I have to figure out how I can burn my own chips dirt cheap. I'm in the process of working out a super cheap way to log data via ALDL thanks to one of the threads on here.

I posted a tread for converting a '7747 to use the 27SF512 flash chips. http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...sion-(27SF512) This way allows you to have the option of using the Moates.net Burn2 http://www.moates.net/burn2-flash-n-...rogrammer.html
