xdf to view vortec 5.7 (L31) tunes from 96 to 99

    hi all,

i see several 5.7/4L60e bins in the forums here but its not exactly clear to me which XDF needs to be used to view them in tuner pro. Apologize in advance for the n00b question but i typically only look at p01/p59 stuff so going back in time to the black box is a little new to me.

Mostly, i want to look at the transmission tune, to duplicate it when swapping to an 0411.

happy to do any required reading but not exactly sure where to start, if someone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Put a P01 or P59 into it. While you can tune the Black Box a factory stock P01 5.7L Van or P59 5.7L GMT800 Mexican truck factory calibration will run better than the Black Box as it sits. You can use Universal Patcher and PCMHammer with them.

As for the transmission tune, not worth duplicating what is in the black box, its garbage anyway. I use Blucats.

My 97 van shifted alot better with the shift tables lifted from a 6.0L powered van than it did stock.

Thanks for the input, much appreciated! This will be for an 0411 swap into a 96 suburban with L31/4L60e. Will see how it goes.

by chance do you happen to have the BIN for the P59 GMT800 mexican van? looked in the '03 and '04 threads but did not see it. Thank you again.

The one I have is from 2005. 350 with a 5spd. Same OS as alot of 2005 USA built stuff. I swapped a 4L80E trans segment and made changes to the calibration for an automatic.

1MGL31.bin should be a stock .BIN

The second is modified for Flex Fuel, Lean Cruise, 4L80E and a 2005 Van System segment so that the analog a/c request works. I have not tested this without modifications for my application. The Lean Cruise values I patched in and are from an entirely different vehicle, but I change that to what I desire. Same for the flex fuel timing adders.
