    96 L29 4x4 Cal

    Hey everyone…couple of questions..
    1. what’s the difference between the 96/97 PCM’s and the 98 PCM’s?
    2. Can I flash a tune into a 98 PCM to suit a 4x4 L29 truck/suburban which will suit/run a 96 truck?
    3. Does anyone know of a tune/file I can use?
    Thanks

It appears the PCM connector wiring diagrams are different 96/97 vs. 98/99 L29 PCM's.

Would I be correct in thinking you have a 98 PCM you would like to install into 96 truck?

Perhaps re-pinning the 96 PCM connectors for a 98 PCM is something to consider, before installing a custom flashed 98 PCM into a 96 truck?

Ahh..OK. I didn't even look into that. I was looking at flashing a 96/97 tune into my old 98 PCM...just as a test. Someone I know was asking if anyone here in Australia could install an EGR deleted tune for them...a d I just wanted to make sure I has a working .Cal file. He'd have to send me his PCM...so there would be no rewiring Necessary. If I were him...I'd just do the 0411 swap...but he doesn't want to.
