    Diagram ?

    I know what the high gear switch input is, but what is the square that is marked "IP" in the CEL ground line?

    probably instrument panel, if i had to guess.... i would think the SES bulb would be inside of it though.

    Yes, "IP" in this context means "Instrument Panel." In that diagram, it looks like it is crudely indicating the IP connector.
