All new to tuning - 2008 LY6 E38 ECM going to manual transmission

Hello,
I am working with a 2008 E38 ECM from a 2008 GMC 3500 Savana 6.0 LY6 with upgraded cam and fuel injectors. The van originally came with an automatic. I am swapping the engine and factory ECM into my 1965 C10. I am not using the automatic transmission. I am using a Tremec T56 6 speed. I have been told that going to a manual transmission with this ECM creates a problem. I am here to get it figured out.

I have been told that I may need to segment swap it. I also have been told that I may have to change the OS all together to something from a manual Camaro or Corvette.

I don't know how to do either of those things and I am just starting my learning journey.

I'm not an expert on the E38, but I've heard that it's best to stay with the same year OS of you choose to swap.

Segment swapping can easily be done with the proper tuning platform, you just need to find a tune file of the same OS that has a manual transmission.
